While in Singapore, I learned that obtaining and maintaining a driver’s license is expensive. It can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $1,800 USD and can take anywhere from three to six months to acquire. Once you have your license, purchasing a car is another significant expense. For example, a simple Toyota Yaris can cost about $100,000 USD.
